(02)  Method

Marks live in the reasoning.

Most answers make one jump and stop. Examiners pay for every link in between. Scroll the chain — this is how every guide is written.

i.

Mark scheme first

Every guide is built backwards from how marks are awarded — levels, command words, what separates a B from an A*.

ii.

Built link by link

Model paragraphs annotated sentence by sentence, so you see exactly why each line scores.

iii.

Tested on real answers

Flashcards, diagnostics and an AI examiner that marks your essay against the level descriptors.

(03)  Who’s behind it

Written by someone who sat these exams last summer — not a textbook company.

Zac GalanFounder, The A Level Guide
AEconomics
ABusiness

I took Economics, Business and Geography in 2026. What moved my grades wasn’t more content — it was finally understanding how the mark scheme rewards an answer.

The Econ Guide started as my own notes on exactly that. The A Level Guide is the same method for every subject I took, written down properly and free to use.

(04)  Questions

Short answers.

Is it actually free?

Yes. The core revision — notes, chains of reasoning, diagrams, flashcards and the AI essay examiner — is free with no login. Each subject has its own optional A* packs inside it, if you want to go further.

Which exam boards are covered?

Economics is built on Edexcel and works for AQA and OCR students too. Business is being written for WJEC, and Geography will follow for Edexcel.

When does Business launch?

It’s being written now. Drop your email in the Business panel and you’ll get one email the day it opens.

Is this affiliated with the exam boards?

No. The A Level Guide is an independent revision resource and isn’t endorsed by Pearson Edexcel, WJEC, AQA or OCR.
